Lagos, Portugal
Oh my dear Dona Ana Beach how I love thee so. Your rich, cool red sangria with colorful bobbing fruit, magnified by the glass pitcher that held you. Sea greens and blues gently waving back and forth, creating the perfect backdrop. All of it illuminated by the warm Portugal sun. It's a treasured place that I will never forget and will visit again. Til then. {painted silk with sharpie ink}
Porto, Portugal
Vinho Verde. Nothing is better on a warm day, slightly bubbly, cool, refreshing, perfect with salted grilled sardines and ridiculously cheep. Or as my new friend Kasper form Porto said “I love Vinho Verde because the warm Vinho Verde is worth nothing & the cold one is cheep.” And so delicious. {painted silk with gutta resists}
Lisboa, Portugal
Lisboa is an enchanting city, full of colors, hand painted tiles, delicious food and rich history. In many ways she reminds me of San Francisco with the yellow trollies weaving through the hilly streets and the regal red color of the Abril Bridge popping against the royal blues of the Tagus River. Pure perfection. {painted silk with wax resists}
Lisboa, Portugal
Tiles, tiles and more tiles. Portugal is covered with vibrant tiles and colorful walls. Tiles featuring flowers, shapes, stories; the cities are literally covered in them. I found them all to be inspiring. There's an antique tile shop up the hill from the Castle de São Jorge worth spending some time at and Lisbon is home to the Museu Nacional do Azulejo: The National Tile Museum. I could have looked at tiles all day. {LEFT: painted silk with wax resist RIGHT: painted silk with gutta resist}
Lagos, Portugal
Lagos, why can't I quit you? You are such a wonderfully chill place with funny people, salted sardines, beautiful beaches, awe-inspiring kayaking through the coastal caves of the Algarve and cool fresh coconut water to boot. I will surely see you again. {painted silk with gutta resist}
